Most of us are stuck in another lockdown, light or strict, ongoing or newly established. Our holiday activities have been cancelled and most of us have had to drastically change their behavior in the last nine months. While stuck at home, some of you may have taken up a new hobby, discovered a new passion or passed the time with unusual activities. (Only today I realized that I have been cleaning our apartment much more since March, but this post was not meant to be about my cleaning skills).
So, I’d be curious to know what your new hobbies and passions are that you discovered during the lockdown. Are you still pursuing them or was it a short fling?

Here are mine:
Yoga is one of the new activities I picked up during the first lockdown in spring and maintained for a few months. I had a beautiful morning routine – half an hour of yoga, a coffee on the balcony, some journaling. The Instagram dream morning routine. 🙂 But to be honest, I didn’t keep up that morning routine once I had to go back to the office (not way I do it all before 7.30am) and I also stopped doing yoga, which is a shame and I hope to get back to it at some point. I can highly recommend Yoga with Adriene
The lockdown also forced me to cook more, which I think was and still is fantastic. We are big brunch lovers and tend to go out for dinner 1-2 times a week. But the lockdown forced us to eat every single meal at home and I really enjoyed that. Some weeks were more inspiring than others for sure, but I also shared some recipes with friends, which was fun. I also did a lot of baking and my homemade cakes made me very happy.
Corona also got me running and I’m so happy about that. I have been running for years, sometimes more, sometimes less (rather less than more to be honest) and during the lockdown I ran 2-3 times a week. Since summer, we have a puppy and I spend my free time walking him, so my physical activity has shifted from running to walking, but I currently try to run once a week.
And as you may already know, I put so much more time into reading and writing and I couldn’t be happier about it. I used to be such a big reader, as a child/teenager I read at least one book a week and the older I got, the less I read (and the more time I spent on the phone). So that’s something I definitely want to keep up.

Last but not least, my wonderful friends gave me a calligraphy course for my birthday and I’m so happy about it. I had calligraphy for so long on my mind but I never pursuit it and now I have the tools and the opportunity to learn it.
Now, it’s your turn, share your new hobbies and passions with me here on the blog or on Instagram or Facebook. And if you are looking for some inspiration for the current lockdown, here is an article with 10 meaningful hobbies.
