Congratulations, you have found your niche!! One of the most important steps in building your personal brand is done. If you have any questions, check out the last "Branding Bits" where I wrote about finding your niche.
Next step in building your personal brand: Make yourself known for your niche(s).
Whenever we talk about female empowerment, women leading change or other "female achievements" in my office or with my friends, everyone looks at me. It's a little uncomfortable (especially in the beginning), but I would say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
How do we get there?
How to make yourself known for your niche(s)
Talk about it! To position yourself as an expert or at least as someone who is interested in a certain topic, you need to talk, write and post about it. Mention it at a meeting (if it fits), attend an event to get to know people who are also interested in that certain topic, post articles on LinkedIn (or other social platforms) and talk about it with your coworkers, friends and family. Even though some people may role their eyes at you, you gain a reputation for being interested in XY.

Here are some tips that worked for me:
Join an association or organization related to your topic or volunteer. I joined Young Women in Business to network and educate myself in the field that interests me.
Share articles on LinkedIn or a post on IG related to your niche. If you do this regularly, you will show up in people's feed and they will start connecting you to your niche. I share event posts from Young Women in Business or recently I shared an article about Women and Finances.
In addition to your job title, add your interest to your LinkedIn headline. I recently added "Female Leadership Advocate" to my LinkedIn headline.
Follow people on social media and reach out to them. This way you not only increase your network and visibility, but you also learn a lot about your niche.
Talk about it!! I talk endlessly about female empowerment with my family and friends. You can ask them, some might be annoyed by it. :)
If you can start something new in your office, in your local student organization or even in your local sports club, do it! I started an event series at my office called "Women in ...." which - again - increased my visibility and network. I have met a lot of interesting women.
Does this resonate with you? Do you have advices that worked for you? Feel free to add them in the comment section or message me on social media.
