We started the personal branding journey with a reality check. Where do we stand? I hope you wrote it all down and maybe you took the time to reflect a bit on who you are and what you stand for. That’s how it was for me.
One thing is the perception you have of yourself, another is how you are perceived by other people. How are you perceived by those around you? Where do others see your strengths? I challenge you to ask your family, friends and coworkers where they see your strengths.

Review the answers
Are you perceived the way you would like to be perceived? If so, you are definitely on the right path. If not, take the time to ask yourself why and how you can influence the perception/narrative about yourself.
Where to start when working on your perception
Review your social media channels. For me it’s LinkedIn and Instagram – LinkedIn for my professional, work-related network and Instagram for my passion and branding project. I probably changed my Instagram bio about 3949 times and I’m still not sure if I nailed it. I have found an interesting article with lots of advices on your Insta bio here. It’s important that people who check your profile know who you are, what you do and what you have to say. The bio can be the reason someone stays on your page.
Make sure that your LinkedIn profile is up-to-date and that you have added all your skills (education, experiences, accomplishments, industry knowledge, languages). In the beginning of this year, I started to be more active on LinkedIn sharing posts, liking and commenting on other activities. But I've never written a LinkedIn article before. Just the thought of it makes me nervous, but I would like to challenge myself to post at least one article on LinkedIn this year. Additionally, I need to add a profile summary.
How will you update your social media channels and what challenges do you set yourself?
